MargieMargie’s Kitchen is a food business that employs marginalized communities and 50% of profits go towards Grassrooted programming. This initiative will be the mainstay of Grassrooted’s new revenue model (as recently reported in the press) and plans for further expansion are in place. So if you need any events catered, we run the gamut from birthdays to the loss of loved ones, or just want to relax with some yummy food, Margie’s Kitchen can help.


GMGrassrooted Merchandise involves our WHO MADE THIS? mugs, THINK postcards and Grassrooted clothing, all available from our Online Store and the mugs and postcards are also available at Barefoot.




New Ferncliff Logo -

Ferncliff  bungalow up in Nuwara Eliya and Littlemore Bungalow in Kurunegala are successful tourist businesses that provide Grassrooted with a minimum of 10% of profits. Grassrooted merchandise is also available at these properties as of June 2014.


Our businesses provide a model of sustainability that ensures our work is not dependent on donor agendas or funding cycles. They allow us to employ qualified and committed team members on a long term basis. We’ve moved on from being told what to do,  to doing what actually needs to be done.
